Conditions of Entry

Who can participate in the competition

All our artistic and cultural events are messengers of peace, love and friendship. Participants, regardless of ethnicity, religion and nationality, will be able to participate in the competition without discrimination, in a spirit of mutual respect with the other participants.

Art. 1

All public and private schools and fashion school. (or Association) can enter the “Schools Fashion Award” competition.

Participating students must not be older than 19 years of age.

Application fee

€ 350 registration fee for each participating entity (Schools, Associations etc)

Art. 2

PROJECT CONTENTS

All participating schools must submit a fashion project on a theme of  their choice.

Project presentation includes design creation and implementation of the designs.

Designs/items must not be more than 10 and not less than 5.

The selected garments will be shown on the catwalk at the settled venue in Sanremo during one of the finals in GEF for a maximum of 4 minutes per school.

The winner will be the project deemed the most outstanding by the jury for creativity, creative intelligence and type of materials used.

Each school is encouraged to submit the pattern and the finished garments worn by students of the school.

Art. 3

Schools that intend to participate in the competition must send exclusively via email to info@gef.it no later than 31 January 2025:

– application form 2025, complete in all its parts

– Implementation of designs

– a brief presentation of the inspirational theme (in Italian for Italian schools / in English for schools    from other countries);

– the list of all the students enrolled in the schools that are taking part in the project

– registration forms must be signed by the school Principal/Headmaster, bear the school’s stamp

– proof of payment of entry fees € 350 must be paid to:

Only the Finalist schools/associations selected for the Sanremo Final stages will be informed by 12 February 2025 with:

– the Hotel Booking Form

– the SIAE (copyright) form.

– personal data processing forms according to the EU regulation n.679/2016 (GDPR)

– consent form (release for the publication of images)

– the Technical Sheet

By 20 February2025, the schools admitted to the final stages must then confirm in writing, exclusively via e-mail, also sending various forms received with our confirmation, duly completed, namely:

– the duly completed Hotel Booking Form. (the copy of the payment for the stay must reach us by 25 February 2025):

– the SIAE (copyright) form

– personal data processing forms according to the EU regulation n.679/2016 (GDPR), duly completed and signed

– consent form (release for the publication of images), duly completed and signed

– the Technical Sheet with any scene requirements (which must be agreed with the Production Manager)

– the complete list with name and surname of each official participant, teacher, principal, family members, accompanying persons etc.

Art. 4

JUDGING PANEL AND FINAL SELECTION

Schools will be selected to participate in the finals on the basis of their project and will be judged by a panel of experts in the field, appointed by GEF.

The schools admitted to the finals will model their garments at Teatro Ariston in Sanremo during one of the final stages of GEF.

The winning school will also show its designs on the catwalk during GEF’s 2025 closing ceremony.

A panel of fashion experts will select the winning school and decide on the special awards.

The committee and panel’s decisions are final.

Art. 5

PRIZES AND AWARDS

The winning school will be awarded the prestigious “School Creativity Award“

The panel reserves the right to assign special awards for:

The best market oriented project

The best project for the most newfangled garments.

Art. 6

ORGANIZATION OF THE FASHION PARADE

Each school short-listed for the competition finals will have 4 minutes (the equivalent of a maximum 10 appearances on the catwalk) included music or film introduction.

The setting for the fashion show will be the stage of Teatro Ariston with a fixed scene and may alternate with performances by the other GEF’s finalist schools of dance and/or music.

Each school short-listed for the competition finals must provide two copies of its own background music on mp3 format or vave format (or video with base, if requested, in mp4 format).

Male and female models for the fashion parade in Sanremo must be provided by the schools involved or, upon receiving a written request by school/s, GEF’s organisers may provide them, but the school/s requesting such service must agree in writing to the costs quoted. In both instances all costs will be paid by the schools and none by GEF.

Art. 7

All official participants in GEF’s final stages will receive GEF’s gadgets.

Each finalist school will be included in the official bilingual catalogue (Italian/English) of GEF.

All winners will receive their prizes at Teatro Ariston in Sanremo during the final performances of GEF. A winner not attending the event cannot claim for their prizes later on.

Art. 8

All entrants and each school taking part in the competition finals in Sanremo will undertake to pay for its own board and lodgings. For reasons of organization and event management, finalists, accompanying adults and/or anyone spending nights in Sanremo while taking part in GEF 2025, will need to stay at least two nights and book through GEF choosing accommodation from our price list in the website www.gef.it in order to gain accreditation and be able to take part in the competition finals. (minimum three nights for schools participating in Theatre or Musical).

Each school admitted to the finals will be sent a booking-form by the booking organization outlining modes of payment.

Considering the thousands of bookings processed during the previous edition of GEF, early bookings are highly recommended.

Art. 9

A final performance will take place on Saturday 29 March 2025, at Teatro Ariston, with performances and a GEF award presentation to the assigned winners of the music, dance and fashion competitions. Also some other competition winners will receive their awards. During the evening the winner of the prestigious prize “Global Education Award” will also receive their award, which is the only international education prize awarded each year to persons and associations who through their thoughts, words and actions, have fostered the growth and development of education.

Art. 10

GEF reserves the right to record and/or film and/or broadcast the event in its entirety or in part, using any medium (print, photography, radio, television, audio-visual, internet, etc.) and to accompany the event with one or more promotion or publicity, without owing any payments to anyone including all participants.

GEF ask to receive the privacy forms filled in and signed.

Art. 11

Every school and association have to send Consent forms according to UE regulations n.679/2016 (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation.

Art. 12

The competition finals in Sanremo may undergo some changes due to technical or organizational factors, however these will be communicated forthwith to all interested parties.

Art. 13

All works received will remain the property of GEF. GEF reserves the right to publish or used them in other shows without owing any payments to anyone including all participants

Art. 14

All printed matter and trademarks are protected by copyright; therefore, any use or reproduction by any medium is prohibited. Anyone using all or part of it without express permission will be prosecuted.

Art. 15

GEF’s Organizing Committee, the promoting association and the company providing technical support will not accept any liability for personal or material injuries or accidents occurring while travelling or during the Festival.

Art. 16

Anyone taking part in the event is expected to have read and understood the conditions set by these regulations and to accept them unconditionally. Participation to the event also implies that each participant explicitly agrees to allow GEF to access its archives and process all personal data provided, according to UE regulations n.679/2016 (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation.
