Orchestras, bands, choirs and youth bands on the Teatro Ariston stage

The International Festival of School Music is the music competition of GEF Sanremo: orchestras, bands, choirs and bands from schools all over the world perform live during the International Finals at the Teatro Ariston.

The selected pieces are performed live by the finalist schools. The Selection Committee admits a maximum of 2 pieces per school to the Finals.

Deadlines

8 February: submission of material for selections
21 February: notification of admitted schools
28 February: confirmation of participation

Categories and sections

Band – minimum 15 students
Orchestras, Bands and Musical Groups – minimum 20 students
Choirs – minimum 20 students

Sections:

A) Primary schools
B) Lower and upper secondary schools
C) Music and singing schools, associations and societies

Who can take part

Participants aged 5 to 19 in 2027. Public and government-recognised private schools, both Italian and foreign. A special section is dedicated to music and singing schools, choral associations and societies.
