How to reach Sanremo
By car
From Milan
Take the A7 Milan-Genoa, then join the A10 towards Savona/Ventimiglia. Continue past Imperia and take the Arma di Taggia exit. From there follow the signs for Sanremo, using the Aurelia Bis.
From Turin
Take the A6 Turin-Savona, then join the A10 towards Ventimiglia. The recommended exit is Arma di Taggia, then continue towards Sanremo.
From Genoa
Take the A10 directly towards Savona/Ventimiglia and exit at Arma di Taggia. From there you reach Sanremo via the Aurelia Bis.
From Nice and France
Follow the A8 towards Italy/Ventimiglia. After the border, the motorway continues as the A10. Take the Sanremo/Sanremo Ovest exit and follow Via Padre Semeria towards the city centre.
From Tuscany and Central Italy
Take the A12 towards Genoa, then continue on the A10 towards Ventimiglia and take the Arma di Taggia exit.
By plane
Sanremo does not have its own commercial airport.
The two main alternatives are:
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport: generally the most practical option as it is much closer to Sanremo.
Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport: the Italian alternative. The airport is about 140 km from Sanremo.
By train
The simplest option if you want to arrive directly in the city is often the train, setting Sanremo as your destination.
The Ligurian railway line connects Sanremo with Ventimiglia, Imperia, Savona and Genoa and integrates with the Intercity connections from Italy’s main cities.
