Conditions of entry

Art. 1

“Educ-Arte” an International Painting Competition for Schools and Sport Associations/Societies (age of the participants, from 5 to 19 years oldi) will take place during GEF’s final stages in Sanremo.

Art. 2

Entry is open to public and legally registered private Schools, Sport Associations and Sport Societies, both from Italy and other countries, at any level, including Art Schools and “Licei Artistici” (secondary schools specializing in figurative arts).

The competition has 4 sections:

A – Primary Schools

B – Lower Secondary Schools

C – Upper Secondary Schoolsrl

D – Sport Associations/Sport Societies

Who can participate in the competition

All our artistic and cultural events are messengers of peace, love and friendship. Participants, regardless of ethnicity, skin colour, religion and nationality, will be able to participate in the competition without discrimination, in a spirit of mutual respect with the other participants.

Art. 3

Theme: “BREAKING, from the street to the Olympics!”

 Canvases must measure 1×1 metres. Acrylic colours must be used.

Each school or Sport association/Sport Societies can submit up to 3 paintings by their students.

Only canvases measuring 1×1 metres and painted with acrylic colours will be accepted.

Participants can be up to 19 years old.

Art. 4

Participants in the A/B/C/D sections must forward by email their photographed work for selection.

Works must be accompanied by a completed registration form.

There is no registration fee.

All participants must be enrolled in the school or in the Sport Association/Society, which has registered for the competition, maximum aged 19.

Art. 5

Schools and associations that intend to participate in the competition must send exclusively via email to info@gef.it  no later than February 15, 2024:

– the 2024 registration form completed in its entirety

– title of the painting/s submitted

– the photography  of every pieces

– a list of the students enrolled in the schools that are taking part in the project (also for Sport Associations, Sport Clubs etc)

Art. 6

Only the Finalist schools/associations selected for the Sanremo Final will be informed by February 29, 2024 with:

 – the title of the selected paintings for the Final, which will be exhibited in Sanremo during the Final Stages of the GEF.

– the Hotel Booking Form

– personal data processing forms according to the EU regulation n.679/2016 (GDPR)

– consent form (release for the publication of images)

By 10 March 2024, the schools admitted to the final stages must then confirm in writing, exclusively via e-mail, also sending various forms received with our confirmation, duly completed, namely:

– the duly completed Hotel Booking Form. (the copy of the payment for the stay must reach us by 17 March 2024)

– personal data processing forms according to the EU regulation n.679/2016 (GDPR), duly completed and signed

– consent form (release for the publication of images), duly completed and signed

– the complete list coming to Sanremo with name and surname of each official participant, teacher, principal, family members, accompanying persons, etc

The finalists will be able to attend at the Ariston Theater, Wednesday evening 17 April at the sanremoJunior World Final with solo singers from numerous nations who will sing live accompanied by the sanremoJunior orchestra (32 musicians); Thursday evening 18 April and Friday evening 19 April at the group Finals of Music, Dance, Gymnastics and Fashion.

Art. 7

The works (1x1m canvases), with the data that must also be reported on the back of the work, will be delivered by the finalists to the GEF Reception immediately upon their arrival in Sanremo.

The works will remain the property of the GEF which, with unquestionable and final decision, may exhibit them in other places and use them for social and solidarity projects or donate.

Art. 8

The Organization undertakes to use the utmost care to preserve and protect all works submitted, but relinquishes any liability for theft, loss, fire, acts of vandalism and other accidental or deliberate acts which may occur during the event, or other promotions organized by the artists during EDUC-ARTE, during transportation.

Art. 9

The works will be evaluated by a Jury made up of personalities from the world of culture, school and sport, chaired by Prof. Christian Parisot, appointed archivist by Jeanne Modigliani in 1983 of the “Modigliani Institut Archives Legales”, Paris and President of Cerreto d’ Art since 2012, associated with Castellania-Coppi.

The judgment of the Jury which will designate the winners and the awarded works is final and unquestionable.

Art. 10

Prizes will go to the winners in each section including the school (Sport Association/Society)  selected as the absolute winner. Based on the contents of the paintings submitted the panel may decide against selecting a winning entry in one or more sections, select two or more winners in one section and/or award other prizes.

The panel’s decisions are final.

The overall winner will receive the “Prix Modigliani”

The winners of the sections will receive “the Plaque GEF” and each other finalist school will receive a GEF’s participation certificate.

All winners will receive their prizes at Teatro Ariston in Sanremo during one of the final performances of  GEF. A winner not attending the event cannot claim for their prizes later on.

All finalist schools (Sport Associations/Societies) will have their name printed in the official bilingual Program (Italian/English) of GEF.

Art. 11

All entrants and each school, Sport Association/Societies taking part in the competition finals in Sanremo will undertake to pay for its own board and lodgings. For reasons of organization and event management, finalists, accompanying adults and/or anyone spending nights in Sanremo while taking part in GEF 2024, will need to stay at least two nights and book through GEF, choosing accommodation from our price list on the website www.gef.it in order to gain accreditation and be able to take part in the competition finals. (minimum three nights for schools participating in Theatre or Musical).

Each school, Sport Associatioin/Societies admitted to the finals will be sent a booking-form by the booking organization outlining modes of payment.

Considering the thousands of bookings processed during the previous edition of GEF, early bookings are highly recommended.

Art. 12

The final show will take place with performances and awards ceremony for the absolute winners in the Music, Singing, Dance and Fashion competitions on the evening of Saturday April the 20th, 2024 at the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo. Prizes will also be awarded to the winners of other competitions and the GEF 2024 Awards (Entertainment, Music, Sport, Health, etc.) will be presented, including the prestigious ‘Global Education Award’, the only international education award presented every year to personalities and associations who, with thoughts, words and actions, have favoured the development and increase of education.

Art. 13

GEF reserves the right to record and/or film and/or broadcast the event in its entirety or in part, using any medium (print, photography, radio, television, audio-visual, internet, etc.) and to accompany the event with one or more promotion or publicity, without owing any payments to anyone including all participants.

GEF ask to receive the privacy forms filled in and signed. (see Art.6)

Art. 14

Every school and Sport Association/Societies have to send Consent forms according to UE regulations n.679/2016 (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation and other required modules (see Art.6).

Art. 15

Any changes to the competition finals in Sanremo, which might occur due to technical or administrative reasons will be notified forthwith.

Art. 16

All works received will remain the property of GEF and will be published or used in other shows at GEF’s discretion.  No money will be owed to any participant.

Art. 17

All printed matter and logos are protected by copyright: therefore any unauthorized use is forbidden. Anyone trying to use any of them without authorization will be duly prosecuted.

Art. 18

GEF’s Organizing Committee, the Promoting Association and the Company providing technical support will not accept any liability for personal or material injuries or accidents occurring while travelling or during the Festival.

Art. 19

Anyone taking part in the event is expected to have read and understood the conditions set by these regulations and to accept them unconditionally. Participation to the event also implies that each participant explicitly agrees to allow GEF to access its archives and process all personal data provided, according to UE regulations n.679/2016 (GDPR) General Data Protection Regulation.
